When cold my transmission hesitates for about 10 seconds before shifting into reverse. I noticed this problem several years ago but it had to be really cold for it to do it. It seems now that it happens a tot more frequently. I recently had the transmission serviced replacing the filters and fluid and he said all solenoids checked out ok. I do notice that if I just let it idle in park for about 5 minutes it doesn't do it. Any thoughts?

cold fluid doesn't move as easily as warm fluid. This is just highlighting wear and weaknesses in the transmission mechanicals which get worse with age.
