I've owned my Toyota Corolla for about three years now. It was given to me by my uncle with about 145K miles, and he mostly drove it on the highway to get to his construction sites.
I've been hearing some wheezing-like noises whenever I step on the brake pedal and whenever I release it. This has been going on for quite some time now but after having replaced the brakes this time around, I'm not only getting the whistling sound but also a clanky sound now and then when I hit the brakes and let go. Sometimes when I'm braking and I'm getting down to a really slow speed like maybe 15mph or less, I get a really annoying squealing sound that only goes away once I fully stop. This has no pattern to it though, sometimes it makes the noise other times it doesn't
Additionally, I also get an odd creaking (can't really explain it) sound when braking at moderate speeds it almost sounds like it's in sync with one tire rotation. After one full tire rotation I hear the noise. I've also been getting some slight vibrations whenever braking from speeds of about 50mph+ which only started happening recently.
well your rotors are warped you might replace the pads and rotors it's an old car who cares about little noises here and there now if it still making a wheezing noise unfortunately that's often the brake booster going out and they are relatively expensive so if it boots okay and stops good I live with the noise

Thank you, Scotty! I figured it was going to be warped rotors but I wasn't sure since this started happening months after the brakes were replaced.
Assuming the brake booster does go bad, will it be incremental and not go out all at once right? I saw that if it does break then I will have to use much force to stop the car since the booster appears to be what provides the added force to stop the car. So far the pedal depresses normally I haven't had to press on it hard. I also have strong legs though, so I may not even be realizing that I have to slam the brakes harder hahaha
