I saw a 2011 Toyota Tacoma 2.7 4 cylinder for sale and it’s a private party with 236k miles on it. The engine was turning but it won’t start he was asking 3500 an then dropped it to 3200 but I don’t know what’s the problem it sounded that it’s the timing chain
I am not sure why I can’t post the video for someone to tell the reason of it or what’s the fixings or how can fix it
Please make a YouTube video and post the link here.
Pass.
People buy cars that drive and shift fine and afterwards face so many issues. This one does not even start, why bother.
So should I buy it?
I just want to know what’s the problem
I think I already told my opinion. No, do not buy it.
Nope ! That is an interference engine and a problem with the timing chain isn't something you want to be messing with. Very expensive to fix and get right. Not to mention any other problem it's likely to have.
Pass!
If it is a bad timing chain, you have no idea if the engine has been damaged. If you don't mind rebuilding the engine, offer the guy $1000 to haul away his boat anchor.
Besides that, who knows what the shoe of transmission is.
WOW. 236K in 10 years. If you VERIFIED the timing chain is indeed broken, then this truck was ridden hard and put away wet! So many other things about the truck to consider if its even worth a project! All depends on how ambicious you are.
