Hi Scotty,
I have a 2012 Camry with 120,000 miles on it. I take great care of it, no problems. My father starting to tell me to look at another car and trade it in before the value is fully depreciated. But 0 car payments is nice. How long do you think it will last?
Because i live in NY and the camry isnt great in the snow. I'm on the fence of buying a Subaru, Rav4, Mazda CX-5 or a Jeep Cherokee. I watched your video on the Mazda CX-5. If you had to pick one, what would it be?
Thoughts?
Keep the Camry, still a lot of life left if you have been on top of the maintenance all this time (especially engine oil and transmission fluid changes).
I'd keep the Camry. It is barely broken in at that mileage.
Is your father-in-law going to p/u the car note, each month? Vehicles are losing propositions, financially. The only way to reduce those losses is to drive a car until it's no longer economically feasible to repair.
Your father-in-law gave you bad advice IMHO.
I would still keep the Camry, but if you had to buy another car I would be between the RAV4 and CX-5 both are decently reliable and have good resale value.
