Hello to all,
I have a friend that has a 2012 dodge ram truck, and his key keeps going out to where the truck won't turn on. So far he has been getting 3 new keys and it keeps going out at times. The lights turn on but won't start until the locksmith comes and programs a new key, what could it be.
He noticed that the alarm won't work and he needs to use another key to open his truck. Advise please and thank you.

First check, clean & tighten the battery terminals. Have the battery tested as well.
You said that just the key was done, has the ignition lock cylinder ever been changed yet?
If you have an aftermarket alarm installed, remove it. These only cause problems especially if your vehicle came with one from the factory.
