[Solved] Was this truck a good purchase

I purchased a 2013 Ford F-150 XLT with the 5.0L V8 automatic transmission from a private seller local.  It does have higher milage, 224K, but majority seems to be highway as it has criss crossed the country a few times.  CarFax backs this up by oil change locations in Colorado and California and also in Tennessee where the truck was located.  I drove it and it runs smooth and shifts smooth.  Had a friends dad check it out with me for rust and obvious issues and it looked good.  Purchased a BlueDriver and showed the last code clear was over 40,000 miles ago, so he didn't clear it right before we met up the first time or the day we completed the purchase.  Mode 6 info only showed 2 misfires total across all the cylinders.  I believe I made a good decision based on the gut feeling I got from the seller and the checks made, but wanted other opinions on anything to look out for as I get to know this truck.  I plan to check the oil frequently and monitor for any leaks, but figured I'd ask on here to see if anyone has experience with these.

Only thing noted by the seller to be an intermittent issue is the backup camera which indeed is intermittent, but I saw a youtube video on some things to check (clean connections under truck and reseat under dash) and am gonna try that.

Side note on decision.  We plan to purchase a camper as well this year so trying to stay within a planned budget, so realized to be within that would have to be accepting of higher milage.  Around here its either 300,000+ miles for $7500, $30,000 for one with 100,000 miles, or one that has been tweaked and run into the ground by kids.

Thanks in advance.

I suppose time will tell, but you have clearly thought it through.

It is not super old, but old enough and at that miles you will start to see things break.  I'd go ahead and get a shop manual and start perusing the F150 forums to see what to watch for so that you can address small issues promptly.  And make sure there is no deferred maintenance.

Good luck!

How much did you pay for this truck? I hope you didn't pay too much for this vehicle.

I feel I got a good deal on it based on comparable pricing for same spec/condition.
