2013 Mazda CX-5, things to service

Good day!

I have an Japanese-imported 2013 Mazda CX-5 (FWD) that has been running fine so far. Initially bought with 45,000km on the odometer, it needed all fuel injectors cleaned from the get-go. I also replaced the battery quite recently which solved the hesitant start issue. It's now at 50,000km. My driving is conservative mainly within city limits. Very rarely will I take it up into the mountains or off-road.

I have been taking the CX-5 to a local Mazda dealer for general servicing and, while they do the basic stuff, they're not trying to look for anything extra since it's a JDM version.

Anyway, I'm wondering if there's anything else (other than standard servicing) I need to do for this car to make sure I don't have any problems in the future. Thanks for any recommendations.

Regards.

I would look up the maintenance schedule in the owner's manual and divide the mileage by 2.  If it says oil and filter at 10K miles, do it at 5K miles.  If it says transmission fluid and filter at 100K miles, do it at 50K miles, etc.

Thanks for the advice.

How did you get it imported? It takes 25 years to be eligible TMK.

Oh, sorry! I’m not living in the US or Canada. In the Caribbean, many of our used cars are imported from Japan. We see quite a few models that are unique to the JDM.

Oh cool! You’re lucky you can get JDM cars so early!

Definitely follow the maintenance guide.  Don't forget to change the transmission fluid every 50000 or so. Keep an eye on quality of your brake fluid and radiator fluid. Change as needed. You can easily buy testers for both.
