Hello all!
My escape’s seat controls were fine for months (since purchase) until I’d had a breakdown due to a couple bad coils and a grounding issue. The coils were replaced and an extra ground was added, main ground removed and cleaned, refixed.
At one point I was trying to fix my backup camera by checking the fuse and saw a weird dual fuse plugin with a wire attached for the driver seat controls.. i unplugged it, removed the 25 and 10 amp fuses, cleaned and replaced. Seat worked fine..
After these two incidents, the car came back to me and I realized days later the controls no longer work. Not one.. and I don’t get the impression that any power is getting to the controls or motor. No sound is made by the seat to indicate it’s trying. Lumbar support also dead.
I wanted to attach a picture of the fuse box but it seems you can't do pictures here.. the fuse going into F9 is a black 'socket' with two fuses as mentioned - a 25amp and a 10amp. The fuses plug into the side of this little black connector and there is a red wire coming off the black socket. About 4 inches down the wire there is a visible join with black electrical tape that does not look factory. The car did come with power seats so it does not appear to be aftermarket mod, but I found it strange that the drivers manual only mentions needing a 25amp in F9 and a 5amp for the memory control unit. This appears to be 'side-loading' (as we call it in IT) a 10amp along with the 25..
Should I attempt to remove the plug and just use the 25 to see if it solves the issue?
Refer to manual: here.
Many thanks!

Well do try your attempt of removing it and seeing if it works. But more often than not those power motors are controlled by a module and the computer module often go bad. But of course when people work on stuff who knows what wine has been connected to what you would actually have to trace everything from the seat to the module to the battery to find out for sure but for my experience it's often the modules getting shorted out
Thanks Scotty!
