Should I buy a CX5

2014 Mazda CX5

Just watched Scotty's vid concerning the 2014 model of the CX5 and possible transmission problems. He said something about later versions. I'm not sure if he meant the second half of 2014s, or 2015 and later. It seems like most of the ones available in my area are 2014s. Is there a manufacture date that avoids the possible problem? I can check the door tag and find out when it was made. Are all the 2014s AWD? Does it matter as to reliability now?

Still considering one as the RAVs are out of my price range unless I go older than I want.

To my knowledge those are not all all-wheel drive. The Mazdas are definitely getting better but truthfully I wouldn't get one unless it was 20/20 and up

Thanks, Scotty! You're right, the CX I'm looking at is FWD. All the 2020s and higher are out of my price range. Maybe I'll get lucky like the guy in your vid....

Please put a summary of your problem in your topic titles, not the car. Thanks.

I was asking about the model in general, I don't have one ready to look at yet. I'm just considering a Mazda CX5.

I know. Considering buying one.

Did you? If not, why? I've found a few in my area, 2020s and newer like Scotty suggested. They're close to my top price. I'll test drive one or two and ask here about them before buying.

No. YOU are considering buying one, which is what your title should say.
