2014 Odyssey stalls after starting

At about 87,000 miles my Odyssey won't stay started. It easily starts up, but in a few seconds, it dies. If I push on the gas pedal, it will rev up without difficulty. Take your foot off of the gas pedal and it dies again. I replaced the fuel module. No leaks before and after installation. When my wife starts the car, it runs for a few seconds and then stops. It keeps running when my wife revs up the engine. It seems like the fuel pump stops at the same time the engine stops.

I recently bought an Innova 3160rs. Here are all of the codes: PO171, PO172, PO174, and PO175.

In addition I have:

STFT B1 -22.7%

LTFT B1 -21.1%

STFT B2 -18%

STFT B2 -18%

MAP 12mm Hg

IAT 122 degrees F

MAF 2.28# per minute

TPS 18.8%

Command EGR 16.9%

Fuel level 31.8%

EGR 0.8%

Command EVAP 0%

Baro 29 inches Hg

ECU volts 13.65

Load 32.2%

EQ ratio 0.992

Rel TPS 9.8%

TPSB 34.5%

ACC pedal D 26.3%

ACC pedal E 12.9%

Unrelated: The TPMS isn't working on 3 tires. Don't care.

Any ideas what I should be testing? Could it be the PGM-F1 fuel injection control module? The reactive force pedal?

When this problem first started, the problem only occurred by having to start the van three times before it would stay running. I cleaned the MAF and the MAP and changed the old air filter. The problem seemed to go away for a week or two before it got this bad.

Thanks for your help.

You should clean your throttle body and mass air flow sensor. Reset the codes and see what happens.

Well, I charged up the battery. When it started it ran rough. I took out the plugs, and sure enough, the plugs in cylinders two and three had a gap way beyond specifications. Of the remaining four plugs, only one was within specifications. After replacing the plugs, I ran the van and scanned it. Only code was 61-1, which I attribute to a two year old battery. I'll get an AGM battery next time. I'm done, but I still don't understand how I got all those other codes. Perhaps it wasn't misfiring enough to trigger a misfire code, but instead triggered those negative trim codes, both banks, both short and long term.

I remain an avid follower.

Thanks,

After a complete analysis of all of the above, I have found the underlying cause: China knock off plugs. Please consider doing an episode on looking out for fake car parts. This is a problem both on eBay and Amazon. I kid you not.

Hi:

I did all of the above. Cleaned it all. Inspected all of the connectors involved, including the connection to the TPS unit. All were satisfactory.

I disconnected the battery for a while because I couldn't erase the trouble codes with my scanner. I got my radio back by pushing and holding the right buttons. Now the trouble codes are gone, but the engine won't even turn over. Instead I get the reading:

Exhaust gas monitor Bank 1 Sensor 1

Exhaust gas monitor Bank 1 Sensor 2

Exhaust gas monitor Bank 2 Sensor 1

Check A/F Sensor 'non-activation' by monitoring the sensor non-activation time.

Check A/F Sensor 'non-activation' by monitoring the sensor element resistance during A/F feedback control.

So, given the previous data, this attempt to fix the problem, and the last feedback I've downloaded, what should I do?

Thank you for your assistance.

Recharged battery. Runs a little rough. Performed run cycles. Found P0300, P0302, and P0303. I will let the engine cool and then switch coils to determine if it's the coils or the plugs. I don't know what triggered all of those other DTCs.

Good job on finding the codes. I was gonna suggest fuel filter but start with those plugs and coils.

Does this help? If so put the other codes in there as well. Do the simple and most common things first.

This happened to me on my motorcycle.  Tune up time, you know, plugs filters and oil.  Thought I was ready to go but only ran on two cylinders.  After exhaustively going through everything, I put an Ohm meter on the plugs and two of them had  no continuity at all.  .  And these were brand new NGK plugs.

Look closely at those plugs. They might be China knockoffs.
