Hey Scotty Luv Your Channel...I'm doing a Transmission fluid change on a 2014 Scion Tc just a drain and fill no flush or changing the filter the car has 65,xxx mile on it and the color on the fluid is brownest pink and my question is when I drain the fluid out it only came out 2qt of fluid so do I just put that amount back or do I just put the amount of fluid that the owner manual say its say 7qt of fluid ... idk but I feel like there's not enough fluid on the transmission if I just put 2qt back of what I drain out and will it damage the Transmission if I over fill it or put less fluid in it and I notice that there's is not dipstick on the car for you to make sure you are putting enough fluid in it and doing all this will it damage the transmission... Any help will be nice thanks

You put in the exact amount you've taken out, which is the 2 qts. (I'm surprised it's not more. My 08 Camry excreted a full gallon, from the tranny pan).

Having said that, if you want to get more of the older fluid out in the near future, do this: Wait a couple of weeks, and go through the procedure again (the drain and fill). Give that a couple of weeks for the older and new fluid to mix, and then, if you're so inclined, do it one more time.

Three drain and fills (six quarts or so, replaced, over six or so weeks, in multiple drains and fills) will get the majority of the older fluid out.

The main point is to get the majority of the older fluid out, while replenishing the transmission with the additives so important to general lubrication and to keeping the seals pliable.

Now, DON'T OVERFILL the transmission, any of these times. The increased pressure from overfilling will destroy the transmission, and the transmission seals,  in short order.

thanks for the help

At 65k miles I’d change the filter to. Just drop the pan, clean it out and swap the filter. Put it back on. Swapping the filter isn’t the problem it’s usually the flush that pushes crap back into the valve body and clogs the ports and passages. And watch whoever does it. I lost a perfectly good 94 F150 because the tech against my instructions decided to flush it anyway. I used to think it was ok to pay people to do stuff I didn’t feel like doing. LOL not so much anymore unless it’s someone I trust.

thanks
