I just recently bought a 2015 F150 which is practically the bare minimum as far as features goes, no automatic locks, no automatic windows, no cruise control etc. I have no problems with this as I've never been so impressed by bells and whistles, however something I just discovered tonight and am slapping myself for not finding out at the dealership prior is that the tailgate does not lock. All the locks are locked and unlocked by key, every other lock works fine. However on the tailgate, No matter which way I turn it it does not lock. The left turn feels slightly more pressure on the key, but still no result. I noticed a very slight bend in the handle to open the tailgate, should I just replace the handle and lock to fix?
Often it will fix it people beat the heck out of Ford tailgates and things will get bent and broken over time
Replace the lock and get it re=keyed for your keys.
