Hey Scotty,

What do you think about buying a used 2015 Lexus RC 350 AWD with 41K miles from a dealership for $32K? Hahaha!! I’ve watched enough of your awesome videos to know you would never buy from a dealership, but I wanted your input and honest opinion. The car looks solid and is a beautiful car to look at. By the way, I’m buying it for my wife.

The CarFax shows minor rear damage that was fixed, and it had 3 previous owners. Rest of the report shows regular oil changes, and it matches the mileage for regular oil change intervals.

thanks,

John Sutton from Alaska

Finally, the truth is out!  Seriously, though, you've obviously done your research and know what you're doing.  "When in Rome."

1.  Dealer - bad news

2.  Way over priced.  I'll bet it didn't cost $32k when it was new.

3.  Your wife won't be very happy with you while she's sitting in the tow truck.

Does it help that I worked at the dealership? Hahaha I’m also a mechanic, so I’m not worried about anything that may go wrong with it. Also, I have a truck and my wife will never have a need to wait in a tow truck lol.

I know the price seems pretty high, but you come to Alaska and you will find that literally EVERYTHING here is overpriced. All bs aside, it’s pretty fair priced compared to all other similar Lexus’s I’ve found here in Alaska. That includes private parties (which actually are ones that are wayyyyy overpriced), used car lots, and the stealership. Thanks for your comment. I still think I may buy the car 👍

I wouldn't buy from the fact that is way too much money, an accident reported (although minor and not stated what type) and 3 different owners. You also said you're from Alaska and you didn't mention if the car has any rust on it or not.

My apologies. It was the rear bumper cover that had minor damage reported. Here in Anchorage, we don’t use salt on our roads. The 3 different owners does bother me a little bit, but it does seem pretty solid. Actually, in Alaska, you will find that everything is way overpriced. We don’t have manufacturing of any kind here, so almost everything has to be shipped up. Honestly if you do some web searching for vehicles in Alaska, your jaw will fall off your face and drop to the floor when you see the prices for things up here lol. I might still buy it.

Have you checked the vehicle history on the Lexus site?
