I have an opportunity to purchase a 2015 Lincoln MKZ hybrid. The car has a clean history but it was barely driven having just under 7000 miles on the car. I've never owned a hybrid and am wondering if there is a concern about it being driven so little having a negative impact on the life of the hybrid battery system?

Age usually kills the battery.
TMK, the Lincoln hybrid uses an Aisin transmission which is good. That is what a Toyota uses.
But it has a Ford engine, which may or may not be great.
As for the battery, generally speaking batteries need exercise. ie it needs to be used. Not too much. Not too little. Too much or too little and the battery will degrade.
I know for a Prius and Toyota hybrid, there is an app called Dr. Prius, where you can check the voltage and the health of the hybrid battery modules.
Maybe there is an app or something where you can check the health of the MKZ hybrid battery.
