2016 Buick Verano sounds like grinding after/while shifting from first to second and you can almost feel it in the pedal a little. For spme reason reason it only seems to do it one time after turning vehicle on or after shifting from park. Once I accelerate at a regular speed, right after I watch the RPM's drop I hear the noise, again it only seems to do it one time after turning on. After driving and stopping at a stop sign for example and taking off from there, I never hear nor feel anything unusual. There is no dipstick to check the transmission fluid.

Those are notorious for weak transmissions so do my video finding the source of car noises and put one of the sound collecting devices on the transmission if the noise comes from there it's inside the transmission and it is Worn
I would also consider a transmission fluid/filter change if you can't afford a new transmission. It happening after turns leads me to believe it could be caused by chips of metal in the fluid that settle. Although it's certainly not great to have those chips in there in the first place, it could buy you some time.
