My 2017 ram 2500, 5.7 hemi with 89000 miles. It has traction control light and abs light that goes on and off frequently drive fine but I understand that they are safe proof systems. Could it just be my rear speed control sensors. I have cleansed them but not changed them but nothing happens. Also recently when I first turn the truck on it sounds like lifters tapping at first but goes away after about a minute is that common for that many miles and is there anything I could do like change the oil I am using. I’ve been putting in 5w20 as called. And use synthetic. Just curious about your opinion. Thanks.

It's likely your lifters and camshaft are wearing out - it's a common problem on those engines. No oil or additive will help when that happens

  • Hey Scotty my 2017 ram 2500 5.7 hemi has a little tapping sound at first when I first start it up it has 90000 miles on it and it goes away after about 30 seconds or so is there something wrong or anything I can do. It runs fine just curious and my traction control and ABS light goes on and off frequently, was wondering what that could be. Thanks love your channel.

There are a number of possible causes for a ticking sound, but a common problem on those is the camshaft and lifters wearing out due to inadequate lubrication. (It's a design flaw in those engines.)
