I plan to buy a 2017 Toyota Highlander Limited edition and I am curious if it has a remote engine start ?? The internet is full of conflicting information and I don't know what is true. can anybody help me and answer this question?
Yes, it has remote smart. But I don't advise buying them with remote starts because anybody can steal your car with tech. Nowadays people don't steal Highlanders barely. Otherwise the 2017 Highlanders are reliable vehicles with the 6 speed automatic.
so not all come with factory remote engine starter? and from what I was looking for, 2017 has an 8-speed transmission
@tfreyer People complained that the 8 speeds don't shift like they used to. The 8 speeds long term won't be as reliable as the 6 speeds. Yes, not all come with the remote starts. Check with the owner or ask for the key fob.
Get the VIN have the dealer look it up see if the remote start was on it. Not all came with it from the factory. And if it was installed as a dealer option the VIN lookup may not show it. Ask the current owner.
