Just bought it 6 months ago. Will be my last car before retirement in 4 years. What issues should I address before they happen. Love the car
Which engine and what is the mileage?
3.6 and 43k
Its too new but just take care of it stay on top of maintenance and pray.
I hate to burst your bubble but those are endless moneypits.
Unfortunately, Dodge and Chrysler makes some of the junkiest vehicles including that Durango and I would stay away from the brand.
Motor Trend doesn't think so. Truck of the year 3 in a row. First for any manufacturer
Motortrend does not take reliability (esp. long term) into account. Toyota does not win ‘Car of the Year’, ‘Truck of the Year’ awards (from Motortrend) or even get the best reviews from automotive journalists but they make the most reliable/durable products. All these car magazines and their awards don’t mean much when we talk about reliability. Listen to Scotty, Car Wizard, and other mechanics who actually have extensive experience working on all these vehicles.
Just keep up with the factory recommended maintenance. It's the best you can do. The Durango is not a very reliable vehicle, but they are styled nice. You should be ok to 100k miles or so, but beyond that it's a dice roll.
That's what I'm asking, if theres issues and what are they. Maybe I can address them before they happen.
I know people say things about every car maker and all of their problems, like Ram trucks. Had a Ram 1500 with the hemi. People said they were junk too. Best vehicle I ever had. Only thing I replaced was breaks
Since you already bought the SUV, all you can do now is stay on top of the engine oil and transmission fluid changes religiously and don’t drive aggressively (too often) so the powertrain can last as long as possible. Follow the maintenance schedule in the owner’s manual. FCA quality (reliability, durability) is not great and prepare for potential electronic gremlins as it ages.
