I heard that you said these were horrible cars to but because of the engine but I had. already bought it for $16,000. Is that a good deal?

Good price.  Most engines will last longer if you change the oil more frequently.

Those engines have oil dilution issues. I wish you searched a bit before buying it.

The oil dellusion was in the Civic and CR-Vs from 2016 2017 ish. They solved it for 2019 (they claim). The Accords (as well as Fits) did not have that many problems. Honestly, he got a good price so it might last.

I would have it checked out by an independent mechanic to determine this car’s a true current condition, … to see if there is, just perhaps, a hidden reason this car ended up on a used car lot. If all checks out OK, … you got a good deal. Keep it, just cut a recommended oil change schedule in half, … and you should be OK, long term - dilution or not.

If, however, you do discover that there is a very good reason why this car ended up on the used car lot so early in its life, … get rid of it! Flooded, substantially reconstructed post crash, stollen at some point and recovered, et. al., … all qualify for riddance!

How often should I change the oil on the Honda Accord 2018 1.5T and what kind of oil?

You probably have a maintenance minder on your car, … just like my two older Hondas have, I assume. Hence I say, … change oil and filter, reset minder to 100%, … than drive ‘till reading drops to 50%. Change oil sometimes after 50% shows, but before it turns 40% ( mileage between the two number varies since the computer works with tracking multiple parameters: distance driven, number of cold starts, number of short trips, outside temperature, … stuff like that). I get anything between 1,800 km in the summer, and 1,200 km in the winter for each 10% of oil deterioration with my Hondas.

As to what kind of oil? Check an oil fill cap, check the owners manual. If I’m not mistaken it’s a new 0W-16. Plenty of that stuff on store shelves, … and usually at 50% discount - at least at a local Canadian Tire Emporium.
Best,

Good price maybe a mechanic could check it out they are not horrible cars they are pretty good cars of course the 2.0 engine would be prefered but make sure there is no oil dellusion and it should be fine.
