Hello yes i have A 2018 Toyota Corolla le with a cvt transmission i wondering if they are cars that can last a long time and Also i have A light on the dash saying pre collision system unavailable not sure what to do
If it’s still under warranty, take it to the dealer & have them fix it.

What if it’s not under warranty
I’d live with it, as those are extremely complex systems which require dealer level scan tools to diagnose. Have a read of the link I attached, above.
Is the car itself a good car for dependable transportation?
It’s a relatively new model, so the long term reliability is unknown. However, since you already have it, keep driving & maintaining it. All said & done, it’s a Corolla, after all..
How many miles have you put on it, so far? Have you had any trouble with the vehicle? (Other than the one above)
Only have 40k exactly on it at this point no other problems drives perfect quiet smooth drive drove from Ohio to Buffalo ny no problems at all just wondering if it will be a good car like later model Toyota only got the car because of Scottys channel
Sounds like a Corolla being a ‘Corolla’..
What’s the better company Honda or Toyota right now
The present forum consensus is Toyota > Honda for longevity. However, Hondas are usually much more ‘fun to drive’, when compared to an equivalent Toyota. Ask @mod_man , he’s got 2 brand new Honda products + a Toyota.
Yeah i dont Care about the fun part I want my car to last as long as possible something to get me from a to b i heard Honda’s are more zippy and fun and Toyota is long lasting boring that’s why i bought It lol
Sounds like you’re in love with your Corolla!
Just hope the cvt last long with good Maintenance plan on changing the transmission fluid every 45k miles
I’d change it every 30,000 miles with the OEM Toyota fluid.
I see Some people say every 60k miles what does Toyota say is the best
60,000 miles would be fine for regular automatic transmissions. CVTs are very sensitive to the fluid, hence Scotty recommends changing CVT fluid every 30,000 miles using OEM fluid - watch from 08:55
So should i take It now i have 40k miles on the car and I’m sure it’s never been changed should i also Take it to Toyota or can i trust This place called tuffy it’s a big chain auto repair place
I recommend you post a new question asking the forum for recommendations of honest mechanics near you. I’m leery about big chain auto repair places. At the same time, the dealerships tend to overcharge. Your best bet would be to find an honest independent mechanic who’ll do good work at a fair price. And yes, it’s a good idea to change your CVT fluid now.
That’s the problem it’s very hard to find those kinds of mechanics
None in my area for the link you sent me
See below on Scotty’s response to a similar post (Toyota Camry): he basically says to live with it once it’s out of warranty.
