I'm back Scotty!!!
I really think 60,000 miles in difference is a big distance apart. Now my 2001 Silverado 2500 6.0 has 3 schedule types of use. (It is over 250k miles and it is a beast still! ) Probably going to change it at 60,000. My gut is telling me to do it. It's at 37,000 right now and is a great car for my wife and a travel car for us.
Thanks Scotty

I would go with the severe service fluid change interval for maximum transmission life.
Change the fluid every 40,000 miles and use only the OEM fluid.
What is the question?
My fault I think, he put his question in the title and I changed it thinking it was also in the body but I see now it's not all there. He was asking should he follow the severe duty or light duty interval for changing the transmission fluid.
And keep your receipts to be able to prove it.
Toyota will say "never" because it's "lifetime". GM knows a bit better.
Generally about 50k is good for conventional automatics.
