2019 Subaru Outback battery draining

We were going to purchase a 2019 outback (3.6L premium) with about 25000miles. It had its battery replaced 6months prior but within a couple days the battery died on us. (It was around 0 F at the time). I found an article about a lawsuit against Subaru for unreliable batteries, but not much else. We were able to return the car to the used car dealership. We'd still like an Outback. Wondering if a parasitic draw test before buying would eliminate models with a problem or if just buying a more reliable/greater capacity battery could resolve it.

If it has a parasitic drain, it should be resolved before putting a new battery. One question: How do you know if you had parasitic drain at the first place?

Good suggestion. I'm not sure that it did have that drain..but was wondering if that's what I should test for before getting another one. And whether this is a known problem for for the outback.

I would avoid those model years ( 2016-2020 Subaru outback) since there is a class action law suitefor those cars. But generally, if you plan to buy any car, have a mechanic check the car before purchase.
