I wonder if Scotty has anything to say about Toyota's new A25A 2.5 liter engine?
I was watched the "car nut" (a Toyota repair Technician) on youtube and he explained this new Engine, it's pretty complicated. Heated coolant cap, electrical valves that control the coolant distribution, electrical coolant pump motor, an electrical vacuum pump, an electric motor that drives the the intake valve cam shaft that controls the valve timing and eight injectors, 4 for high pressure direct injection and 4 straight port inject all controlled by the computer, Electric water pump, and many more innovations.
Technology is too new to say tbh, only the manufacturer testing facility will know. I have the same engine. Being a Toyota I hope that the quality is still the same. There was a good article I read the other day about the transmission though I would have to re-find it. Most people, myself included who own this car have noticed a rattling noise on start up, no codes nothing. The closest I got to was I think the dipstick is shaking around cause if I take it out and just use a plug the noise goes away mostly for me.
The new cars are advanced though I do have to agree there. Practically everything is electronics now.

I think only time will tell how well they hold up. It's just too early to say.
