Hello, I have watched a lot of your videos on signs of bad clutch and so on and so forth but I can't seem to find anything on the internet that answers this question. I'm going to explain this as best I can. I have a 2019 VW Jetta S it is a manual transmission, my first, so I am not all that adapt at knowing all the ins and outs yet. However, I noticed since I've bought it about a month ago that this problem keeps happening and now more often. If I press down on the clutch and place it into gear it feels like there is a brief barrier or rock in the way but then it goes right in. Now if I leave the clutch depressed and change the gear again I don't have that issue anymore even when changing back to the same gear I was in, everything is as smooth as butter but if I let off the clutch and depress again I feel that same rock feeling no matter what gear I choose. Of course this is all at a stand still that I am testing this. I also noticed the clutch sounds like my grandpas rocking chair is that normal? The vehicle only has 20k miles on it but I am not the first owner so I am worried the dealership knowingly sold me a car with a bad clutch. Any advice would be great as I'm not relishing the idea of taking it back to the dealership even though I've got a warranty of some kind, I don't think it covers clutch wear (smart b*st**rds). I learned to drive stick yearssssss ago so it has nothing to do with me learning how to drive it albeit this is MY first owned manual vehicle, especially this new. Please help!

Well either your clock just worn are you have bad synchromesh inside the gears of the transmission. Pray it's just the clutch starting to wear out or if it feels weird the clutch hydraulic starting to leak
Thanks Scotty! I will take it in and get it looked at and I am praying hard its not the synchros, that would be an entire transmission swap am I right or at the very least a rebuild?
Typical Volkswagen 💩. Either the clutch or the synchromesh as Scotty said. But cmon a 2019 car with this kind of a problem already. What a joke! Had a 96 Mazda protege, 270,000 miles on the original clutch with no maintenance on it! VW garbage is all I have to say!
Amen to that. I had a VW 1.4 Jetta, engine sucks. Not much power and not better gas mileage compared to my 2020 Camry LE.
