I have a 2020 Kia Telluride with 74,000 miles. It drinks oil like my kids redbull. Consuming over 3 quarts between 3500 mile oil changes. Kia says it's acceptable since it is just below 1qt per 1000 miles. Should I dump this thing while it's still worth something?
Modern Kias are notorious oil burners because they didn't produce the piston's rings correctly. An engine that new should consume around half a quart over 5,000 miles at maximum.
Kia/ Hyundai had to recall cars because of excess oil consumption, and they still couldn't get it right after the recalls. They've been producing internal combustion engines for over 120 years.
Should I dump this thing while it's still worth something?
Yes
