Hi, looking for a new suv. I heard the Acura MDX will be a very high tech car so German cars are no longer appealing. The Tpye s will have 365 horse power and the same tech or the regular MDX which is just an MDX but without the sport. My priorities are technology and interior quality. I used to buy German until I heard about this new car. Or a used 2016 model with 70,000 miles. What do you think about Acura’s and other Japanese’s luxury cars.
When it comes to Japanese luxury Lexus IS king for longevity and tech in my opinion. Acura has stepped up in the tech department though, however, for longevity I wouldn’t buy an Acura over the Lexus. So if all you really are looking for is the bells and whistles and don’t care for longevity and like the looks of the Acura then buy it.
Longevity goes to Lexus over Acura. Acura tends to have more problems. But you said
"My priorities are technology and interior quality. I used to buy German until I heard about this new car. Or a used 2016 model with 70,000 miles."
In this case go ahead I've been in an MDX 2017/2018 I believe they are great cars to be in road test it get in one check it out see if its for you and if it fits your priorities why not? If you want longevity I'd look at the Lexus lineup.
But 70k miles seems a bit too much, and if you look at it I wouldn't pay much odds are the transmission is on its way out I say this because usually Honda automatics are a bit weak but 2016 is the first year of the 9 speed automatic plagued with problems I'd look for a newer one, though the 2021 gets a new 10 speed auto which isn't proven in the MDX yet.
