Thoughts on 2021 Mustang gt

I’ve been thinking of getting a new mustang gt with a manual transmission. I was wondering how reliable these have been recently, I figured the 5.0 V8 would be a more reliable engine than the ecoboost especially when paired with a manual. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated

ZERO reliability. Ever since 2018, Ford has had major problems with their V8 engines due to a design flaw. Oil consumption, ticking, and premature failure are the norm.

In addition, the MT-82 manual transmission is made in China and is notorious for being one of, if not the, worst transmission Ford has ever produced. Google will get you hundreds of thousands of complaints about it.

I would not recommend a 2011+ manual Mustang or a 2018+ V8. I had to sue Ford over the 5.0L in my 2018 F150 and have had two 5.0L Mustang GT's, a 2018 and 2019, that both had engine problems.

Ford has forgotten how to build a motor. I would stay WELL clear.

Yes get the V8 the 470 ecobooster inherently unreliable as they age for my experience

I own a 2013 GT Premium Mustang. I'd say, it is best to go for an older model GT like mine. The 18 plus models have annoying quirks about them like new types of noises such as the 'typewriter' tick. And God forbid them adding those damn plastic oil pans/plugs on those things. The Manual on most Mustangs, like the MT82 is crap. And I wager that all that new tech in it will fail with time. The 3rd Gen engines are brutes of power, but they themselves don't seem to be built right. It really is up to you on what you decide, but I personally would never ever get a Mustang after 2017 in my opinion. With the new gen coming out in 2024, I might reconsider, if things hold value well.

The V8 and especially with a manual transmission is a good choice.  Read and understand your warranty and owner's manual.
