Scotty,
I was looking at a 2023 Eclipse Cross. When I checked on the maintenance requirements, I found this to be done at 30,000 miles. Among the usual oil and filter, etc: Replace spark plugs, Adjust valve clearance, Differential Gear oil replacement, drive belt replacement and Transfer case fluid replacement. Do you think these are excessive requirements for a new vehicle with only 30,000 miles?
I would not go as far as "excessive". Some of the maintenance requirements that you've mentioned are normal to be changed/checked upon.
I would not buy this car mainly because of the CVT transmission (not the best).
Do you think these are excessive requirements for a new vehicle with only 30,000 miles?
Can we consider a Mitsubishi a new vehicle? Would not touch that pile of crap with a 10 foot stick.
Also they forgot to mention that at 30,000 miles it's a good time to replace the CVT fluid - it's a Jatco.
All of the other maintenance items make sense too… on a Mitsubishi.
Mitsubishi is very much dead at this point. Renault bought them and hollowed them out - this car, like all Mitsubishi models is to be canceled and replaced with a rebadged Renault.
(like they already have done with the ASX/RVR replacing it with a rebadged Renault Captur, replacing the Mitsubishi Colt with the Renualt Clio/Nissan Micra, and with the outlander replacing it with a rebadged and slightly redesign Renault Austral/Nissan Rogue)
