4 vs 5 bolt hubs

For your average daily driver, is there any significant difference between a 4 bolt hub vs 5 bolt hub?

Or is it more prestige factor?

All things being equal, is one better than the other?

Maybe he is answering as many times, as there are bolts on the hub.

I think the number of studs is a function of the vehicle's weight capacity.

You typically see 4 lugs on tiny compact cars, and 10 or more on semi trucks.

Indeed, absolutely nothing to do with prestige.

Fascinating. Thank you for the information.

Don’t be like me and buy 5-hole rotors for a 4 bolt hub. That just doesn’t work. Not my fault, but definitely a benefit of buying from an actual local auto parts store, for fixing the mistake

Hahaha. I almost made that mistake. I assumed mine were 5 bolt. Because it was a midsized car. And most midsized cars have 5 bolts. I went to look at it, it was only 4.

Isn't this like the 3rd time Scotty replies to your wheel stud question in a video?

Hahaha. I only counted 2, but it could very well be 3!

I know right!

Scotty probably changed his mind since the answer is a little bit different in context.
