I’m nearing 17 and I’m starting to look for a first car. I have been looking for awhile and I’m thinking about getting a 4th generation Toyota 4Runner. I have heard that they are extremely reliable and last for well over 200,000+ miles. Is this a good car to buy?

That generation was MY 2003-2009, and 2007-2009 had the fewest issues so go with a later year in that generation:

Also, your fuel economy may not be that great, insurance and tire replacement can both be higher (esp. if 4x4).
I usually recommend a used Toyota Corolla or Honda Civic as a first car, but if you plan to tow or go on dirt roads then you can’t get those of course.
