My owners manual states not to use fuel with greater ethanol content than E10.
I plan on filling up with 8 gallons of E15, driving over to the ethanol free pump, and adding 4 gallons of that when the changeover happens.
Becomes E10 at that point I assume (12 gallons containing 1.2 gallons of ethanol)
It seems like a pretty simple safeguard, and only cost a couple of extra bucks.
Anyone have any reasons why this wouldn’t be a good idea?
The percentages work, but I'm curious - what make, model, year do you have? No straight E10 where you live?
2017 Outback 2.5L. I’m in New York State, they have been given authorization to implement a bad idea beginning today…so I’m surprised it didn’t change over yesterday.
aren't there additives you can put in gasohol to make it "safer"?
Not an expert in automotive stuff, but interested and trying to learn. I am an expert in sarcasm, but not making the connection.
