[Solved] 92 Dakota occasionally starving for fuel

I have a 1992 Dakota LE 2wd 6cylinder 5speed. I don't know the true milage because the odometer was replaced and the original milage space on the door placard is blank. The current odometer has 223,500 miles.

It occasionally acts like it's starving for fuel. I replaced the throttle position sensor and it does so less frequently, but it still acts like it doesn't have enough fuel occasionally.

I think it might be dirty injectors(it's TBI) or a bad fuel pump(the gauge hasn't worked for the 7 years I've owned it) I also suspect the IAC or the MAP sensor. I replaced the IAC with a cheap parts house product about 5 years ago.

Any thoughts would be appreciated

If it only does occasionally, it may be a clogged fuel filter.

To be honest, you’ll have to check each of the items you’ve mentioned. I would start with a new fuel filter, before spending serious $$$ on a very old car.

Thank you. I'll try that first

I know Scotty set up this whole site to streamline things, but is there any way to get him personally to weigh in or respond in a video? Or is it just kinda hit or miss with whatever he wants to answer?

To get him to reply personally, your best shot would be to ask him a question during his live car talk segment on YouTube.

He set up this site specifically so that he could reduce his screen time.

Ok. Thank you for the quick responses
