I got a 1997 toyota 4runner and I just changed the battery. Now I turn ignition and all lights come on but won't crank at all. Start will not spin. Somebody told me with it having factory radio it may have some security code. But the security system is disabled and I don't have a unlock fob.. any direction will be helpful thanks
Maybe troubleshoot the problem at the starter relay.
Grab a short piece of wire or bend a paperclip into a U shape.
Remove the starter relay and jump starter relay sockets 5 & 3 to see if everything is OK on the Load Side of the starter circuit. (Make sure the truck is in Park or Neutral because the starter should turn when you jump these sockets).
If the starter doesn't turn check the battery connections and starter connections and the 120 amp ALT Fuse and the 40 amp AM1 Fuse.

If the Starter turns then test the Control Side of the Starter Circuit.
Grab a test light and clip its alligator clip to the Battery Positive Post.
Touch the test light's probe to Starter Relay socket Terminal 2. The test light should light up.
If it does then switch the test light's alligator clip to the Battery Negative Post.
With someone holding the Key in the Start Position touch the test light's probe to Starter Relay socket Terminal 1. The test light should light up. If it doesn't check the STA 7.5 amp Fuse. If that fuse is good check the Park/Neutral switch

Well generally all cars have some type of antisep system in them which keeps the car from cranking. You change the battery. You might have to reset the heat theft system. That's the only thing that makes sense unless you're shorted something out when you put the wires on the battery. They need to have to check fuses, fusible linkages relays see what happen
