'98 Camry Airbag Light On, then Off?

Hi! The airbag light in my '98 Camry was on since I bought it. Finally decided to have a dealership check it out since the mechanic I took it to couldn't figure it out. Dealership said it was an electrical problem, specifically the spiral cable which should be replaced.

However, upon receiving my vehicle back (without getting the cable replaced yet), the airbag light no longer comes on. I made sure the light works by starting the car again, and sure enough it comes on and stays on a few seconds before turning off again. I know with electrical issues like this, taking things apart and putting them back together can sometimes fix them. Is it possible that the taking apart and putting back together of whatever they did so to at the dealership solved the issue, or is it more likely that the light is off but the airbags still won't work?

Thanks,

- Wes

It is not a good idea to touch airbag system for an old car like that and do not expect to work fine either. Buckle up and forget about the airbags.
