Hello, skotty I cannot find a answer. I have a 2007 fleetwood terra lx f53 6.8 v10. I burned up the abs sensors in Yellowstone.
Unfortunately the sensors I need are easly $180 a piece.
I noticed their are compairible sensors for cheaper. For the 2011 models or others. Could I modify the newer model sensors to work on my fleetwood.
Such as take the old wiring and switch from the new to fit?
Thanks,
Andrew
Sensors need to (1) produce the expected signal (2) seat properly mechanically, and connect up electrically.
If you can make them meet those criteria then the computer won't know the difference.
A problem you may run into is that older vehicles usually used magnetic coil ABS sensors and newer ones use Hall effect sensors. The two types will not interchange. I have no idea what is used on those Fleetwood RVs or if they changed the type of sensor over the years you're looking at.
If the sensor has three wires it is Hall effect type. If it has two wires it is probably magnetic but might be Hall effect. (Some Hall effect sensors don't have a dedicated ground wire and ground through their case instead.) The only way to tell for sure on a two-wire sensor is to look up its specifications.
Ok thanks. It's definitely magnetic. Part is abs sensor brab1. I have researched alot of them. I hate for anyone go out of there way to suggest one. But would help me narrow it down. I have been driving my wife nuts for a couple of weeks now.
I could at least experiment with one. They go for 10 to 20 bucks a sensor.
I had a similar issues with my wife's 2003 mercury sable. I wanted somewhat of a brand name fuel pump. At the time they wanted $200 bones just for the pump. So I looked up the specs. And found the same dang one for $15 for a 96-97. Both were Delphi. So I slapped that sucker in original pump canister and no problem for the last 4 years. So that opened my eyes. How 🤔 many parts are like the situation.

Anyhow thanks,
