AC Not cooling

Hi Scotty I have a 2017 Buick Encore FWD with the 1.4 without auto stop. I live in Florida so it gets hot. Recently the AC on the Encore has been registering about 52-55 degrees on the vents. I checked the AC refrigerant level on the low pressure cap and it registers about 38 PSI which was a little low so I pumped it up to 42 PSI which is in the green zone according to the recharge kit I got. The temperature only went down to about 48 which is still too high. The kit I got says once I get to the green zone to stop. I don't know what else could be wrong with the system or if I should continue filling it. What would be the max PSI for my Buick? Thanks

"Green zone" is meaningless in this context. If you're using one of those "refill cans" you cannot diagnose AC operation with those and if the can contained sealer you can damage or destroy your air conditioning.

The only way to tell for sure you have the correct refrigerant charge is to evacuate the system and put in the correct amount by weight, and it has be be within an ounce or two of manufacturer's specification to work properly. Blindly charging in refrigerant will only make matters worse.

I did the next best thing - I got rid of it and bought a new Highlander.

That sounds like the best approach of all to fix problems with a Buick Encore!
