Hey scotty, I bought a 2016 Acura mdx in 2023 to get to school and back home for breaks. It had around 130k miles when I bought it, now it’s near 180k. I’ve noticed over time that when shifting from first to second it jumps. All the other gears are fine and I changed transmission fluid around 173k. it was fine for a while but it started jumping again. I keep up with maintenance and do my own oil changes. I’m not sure if I should sell or just keep it till the wheels fall off? Any advice?
It really needs to be checked out by a transmission expert who can diagnose it with a fancy scan tool. If you're lucky it may just be a solenoid or sensor problem.
There are TSBs for the transmission on that vehicle, some of which may be applicable:

There also some reports of similar issues requiring transmission replacement:

Hopefully that was not the first time this vehicle had a transmission fluid change (first one should have been done around 50-60k miles). Was the transmission drained and filled every 50-60k miles?
