My father is considering getting an Acura RLX and I noticed they have this system. I was wondering if you've heard of any problems with this newer system as I know Hondas in the past had problems when they had front and rear wheel steering. Thanks for the help!
P-AWS
Precision All-Wheel Steer, or P-AWS, is the first all-wheel steer system in which the rear wheels can adjust toe angles independently of each other. What this translates to is assistance maneuvering in tight areas, help for smooth lane changes, and enhanced braking stability. This is all because the angle of the rear wheels will vary slightly depending on the speed at which you’re traveling, in an effort to complement the front wheels. Angles include in-phase for stability when you’re cruising along the highway, counter-steer so that your turn radius goes down, and toe-in when braking so your stopping distance decreases. You’ll find the P-AWS system available on the new Acura RLX and TLX.
Thanks mountain Man yes they are very intriguing systems but when you add that kind of complexity generally over time they get super expensive to fix I've never seen and all we're staring system that didn't have expensive problems it's got to be 10 12 14 years old
