Acura RDX VCM

I bought new and own a 2014 Acura RDX with 53,000 miles, 3.5L Vee six with 6 speed automatic transmission which resides in northern Illinois.  I believe it has VCM and have heard that with cylinders on the rear bank disabled, the air spring effect can force oil in the wrong places.  The vehicle has been garaged its entire life and I've performed all maintenance myself including oil (Mobile 1 0W20) and filter changes and two quarts of transmission fluid exchange started last year at 50,000 miles.  Do you think VCM is a bad idea for engine longevity and/or active engine mount wear?  If so, is there a way to disable it without reprogramming the ECU?  I assume mileage would suffer slightly but particularly in cold weather I can feel the engine vibrate more roughly with light throttle after reaching a constant speed on a level surface.  I have found one source for a VCM diagnostic tool - vcmdisable.com - which supposedly when left installed, permanently disables the VCM.  I suspect it "lies" to the ECU telling it the engine is not warm enough to allow VCM to engage..... I have experienced no problems with the vehicle to date but do plan to keep it at least to 100,000 miles.  Thanks for any advice.
