Scotty, I have a 2009 Toyota Sienna with 120k.
I recently saw online that you can purchase and install a oil filter cartridge to spin on filter adapter, this one was “Baxter performance”.
I change my own oil (every 4 months) and hate the canister set up.
Is this a scam? Or is it ok??

Doing this is a good idea imo if you decide the cost is worth eliminating the pain. But insure it is done proper and with good components as you don't want to increase the chance of causing an oil leak from road debris or a poor install. Something ALL mfg's should have/do during design imo. Some do on some models... some seem to intentionally make it hard to get dealerships more business...imo.
