Adaptive suspension reliability

I was wondering if one should avoid a car with Adaptive suspension/adaptive dampers  also known as DCC (dynamic chassis control) which improves the ride quality on a car by allowing the suspension settings to be changed i.e. comfort to sport. Can these become problematic and less reliable as a car ages ?

Most likely. Anything that that's able to be fine-tuned with computers in real-time introduces another point of possible failure. A purely mechanical suspension system doesn't have this potential problem. They're much simpler to produce, and they're typically more durable over the long-term. The con is, you're at the mercy of the road if it's really rough, etc.
