Appropriate Pickup For Me

I've watched lots of videos on your channel about pickups and I know you like Ford and Toyota.

Currently, I own a 2009 Subaru Impreza with an automatic transmission and I live in the city. I'm planning on moving to a rural area and think a pickup would be a better choice. I don't see myself towing anything or hauling heavy loads- mostly things like sheets of drywall or plywood and home appliances. Other than the trips to home improvement stores, I'd be using the truck as a daily ride. I'd want back seats for dogs.

Are there less expensive trucks that would hold up well under the type of use I've described, possibly Chevy, Nissan, or Dodge/Ram? I know you have not had much good to say about them, but given the light use I'd be giving them, might they be a more economical choice?

You are not going to get any love for Chevy, Nissan, or Ram here.  They’re nice riding trucks, especially the Ram, but you have to accept that you will be chasing gremlins for the duration of ownership.

So I’ll go ahead and say it: Ridgeline

Frontier, Colorado/Canyon, or Ranger. All three cheaper than a Tacoma, all three less reliable than Tacoma, all three DECENT trucks. Decent. Nothing more.
