Are K&N Oil Filters Worth It?

Hi all, I want to know what you think about K&N oil filters, are they really worth the price? Will they clean the oil much better than for example a Bosch filter, which is six times cheaper? Thanks

All you're doing is buying the name.  For example, if you are in to firearms, you find out that most people who are selling anything with the name Colt on it think their stuff is worth gold.  They are not.

So if it doesn't really matter what brand I buy, I buy the one I find at my nearest auto parts shop?

Oh my gosh, don't buy a Bosch.

K&N oil filters are actually pretty good. They're just overpriced. For less money, you can get similar performance from Fram Xtended Guard, Wix, NAPA, or Purolator

Why?

why what?

The bosch opinion

It's just a bad filter. It costs a lot, and doesn't filter very well. It lets through too much contamination. The filters I mentioned are much better choices and value for money.

Thanks for the help, I was very much in the dark when it comes to oil filters, I will buy one of those brands.

The Fram Tough Guard filters use silicone valves and are as good as any other quality filter.  Not the Extra Guard, the Tough Guard.

Just don't get Fram

hey, I'm entitled to my opinion.

Of course. And we are entitled to disagree with it.
