So I have a 2013 Dodge Charger R/T with around 77k miles, automatic of course, and the code I'm having is P0563 System Voltage High. I've had the alternator replaced on recall about 3 times and each time it is replaced it's fine for a little while, then I have this issue where when I put the pedal to the floor the radio screen turns off for a second, and sometimes the traction, ABS, and Brake light come on for a second then the car keeps going as if nothing happened. When I bought the car, it had an issue with the voltage regulator, which was replaced and the car was sent back to me. Then when the car got up here I had to replace the computer since it was corroded and causing issues, and I had all the recalls on the car done while I did that just to make sure they were all up to date on the car. After this was done, I'm assuming the alternator was replaced again since that's where they told me the voltage regulator was on the car, and then it started having this issue. So I took it back to them and they diagnosed it as that, replaced it again and then it was working okay for awhile again, and now it is back to having the same issue just not as bad? So I was wondering if you Scotty, or anyone else on here has any advice that may help me fix this. Could they have moved some of the wires a little bit and that's causing this issue? They told me they've already checked all the grounds related to the prior work they've done to make sure of that too.
Hate to say this but it means there a problem with the charging system to the ecm.
Here what I would do.
Multimeter see the charge going to battery on battery terminals.
Multimeter see the charge going from the alternator.
Hopefully u will see something that not around 12.7 to 14 volts with engine on.
Please be careful around the belts
Hopefully it a bad ground cable
