I recently purchased a 2009 Honda Civic with 212,000 miles and the battery has a contraption on it that stops the battery from being drained. The problem is that everytime I use the radio or the air conditioner, the car cuts off. I took the car to the repair shop and would like to know an average cost for the repair of a parasytic draw on battery. I paid $3500 for the car and have had it only two months so I need to know if its worth the investment of a major repair....if its going to be a major repair.
How long are you planning to keep the car ?
Do you mean turning on the radio or AC while the engine is running? Or when the engine is off?

Ask around. Some mechanics have a fixed rate for that, others charge you on hourly base.
