So my 2012 Dodge Charger SXT has a “Battery Saver Mode” message in the dash. What does this mean ? And is it safe to drive this way or will the car die on me.

Usually that means that your battery voltage is low. when a dodge goes into "battery saver mode" it is trying to conserve battery power and turns off certain electronics. I would test your alternator and battery. Chances are your alternator is bad, thus your battery is not reaching the nominal voltage.

Yes but I called the dealer. They said my alternator was replaced august 2017. With OEM alternator. I bought this car in September 2017. And it’s been fine till now. Is it rare for alternator to go bad in 3 years? Or is this normal?

it's not unusual.

The alternator could be in good shape, but it's not that unusual to have a battery go bad after 3 years. Most auto parts stores, such as AutoZone and Advance will test your battery and alternator for free.

It’s very odd...I went to check the battery and alternator at Autozone and both checked out perfect. The only thing I do recall though...the day I got that “battery saver mode” message on the screen, it was really cold outside. Like 20 degree Fahrenheit

Time to load test the battery/alternator.

Since you said it happened when the temperature was very lo, replace your battery with a higher CCA (Cold Crank Amp) rating.
