Best Car Batteries

Being that Optima is no longer a quality car battery and Die Hard is not that great as well...Would V-Interstate Batteries be the best option to buy as a regular car battery? My Toyota dealer says that Toyota Batteries are purchased from V-Interstate.

This has been covered multiple times, please search the board.

There are only a few battery manufacturers and it will be from one of their factories no matter what brand may on the label. East Penn and Johnson Controls are probably the biggest ones. East Penn has the reputation of being the better of the two.

didn't you say you were a tow truck driver?

You must have seen a lot of dead batteries in your line of work.

Yes I was. From 1992 to 2010. I did my fair share of car transport, illegally parked vehicles on private property, and break-downs. Road service was usually limited to the road service guys who did jumpstarts and tire changes. Most of my road service was mostly jumpstarts that a customer either left his lights on or a bad alternator, not starting it up in the winter. If I did more than 10 dead batteries in 18 years, then that was a-lot. Oh, and not to mention...in excessive summer heat, I 've seen a few batteries explode. 20 years ago was a different game. Quality was better in car batteries and things were different. That's why I was asking...What did I mostly tow?...Ealy to mid 90's...Hyundai Excel. Late 90's...Saturn, BMW's, Range Rover. Early 2000's Nissan Sentra-Altima, Mini-Cooper, Mercedes, BMW's, Mercedes, Jaguar, Range Rover/Land Rover, and Chrysler.

Back then I only towed a few Toyota's. One was in a car crash, one was stored in a garage for many years, one was a crappy tercel, and the rest were just car transports. From 1992 to 2010, I only Towed 3 jeep wranglers. (Wow) Most were just crappy luxury cars that snobs bought in New York City and got rid of them for another crappy luxury one. Back then, I drove a 1981 6 Cylinder Caprice Classic that I bought for $200 in 1992 and I had installed a rebuilt transmission from a taxi place for $500 the car went up to 400,000 miles with an engine misfire before a garbage truck slid in the snow in 2000 which then I junked the car.
