Blower Resistor keeps getting fused into its socket

Scotty, I love your videos and thank you for helping so many car owners.

In the last two years I have had to replace the AC Blower Resistor in my 2003 Dodge Dakota SLR (4.7 Liter, 90,000 Miles, Automatic).  Last year the wiring harness became so hot that it the wires melted together and the resistor was fused into the resistor socket.  A few days ago I smelled hot plastic and sure enough, the wiring was too hot to hold on to.  The resistor is again fused into the resistor socket.

What might be causing my wiring to become so hot?

Thank you for any guidance you may provide me,

failing blower motor

I can remember the first time I ever heard of a cabin air filter. I had a mercury villager that was melting blower motor resistors one after the other. I don’t remember how I found out, but once I replaced the dirty old clogged cabin air filter, the blower fan stopped having to pull so hard, and the resistors stopped getting hot and melting. Problem solved.
