When I start it up and the engine is cold the car dies on me unless I give it some gas, and it sometimes idles really bad on me when I’m driving it too. Ive tooken it to a mechanic but he can’t figure it out and told me it’s something he’s never been able to fix, kind of made it seem like it’s unfixable, I see that it’s a common issue with bmws, so I’m hoping it is something that can be fixed. Any advice ?

I suspect
Vaccum leak, pcv .. I dont think this model had an idle value - if so I would check this.

Hello there! It seems like if your car
is dying on cold starts, it could
maybe be weak fuel injectors. When
was the last time you checked or
replaced your spark plugs? Misfires
are caused either by having no spark
or by not having enough fuel present
to have a proper combustion.
