Brake shudder when at low speeds Lincoln MKX 2014

Hello! I've got a 2014 Lincoln MKX with ~234,000 km on it and for a couple of months now I have this issue where when I brake at low speeds (so city driving) the brake pedal tends to shudder. It is similar to when the ABS goes off, and this started happening after having the ABS activate numerous times last winter.

I've noticed that it doesn't happen when I brake hard, more so when I ease into it. Also, the shudder only happens once, whereas in the winter I'd feel the shudder multiple times before it would stop. Granted this was when there was snow on the road. I'm assuming my ABS is messed up but there's no light indicating a fault in the system. I'd like to know if there's anything I could try myself before paying a mechanic to look at it. Thanks for your time.

Have you already tried scanning the vehicle for codes?

I have a $30 scan tool but thats not giving me any codes. Like Scotty mentioned, im going to have to find someone with an advanced one haha

Yes I would assume the ABS has problems because if the brake rotors are warped it shutters at high speeds not low. So I have a guy like me road test it and hook up his fancy computer then analyze the ABS data it may have code stored that you don't know about they don't always necessarily put up the trouble light the fancy scan tools like I have a lot deeper into ABS systems
